You must first be registered in order to bid on an item.  Once you have found a Classified or Auction item, it's easy to purchase or bid on it.  To find an item, you can start with the Category List or you can select one of the views listed at the bottom of the page (All,  All New, All Hot, or Closing Soon).  Select an item to be viewed from the displayed list and then you can place a bid or go back and select another item.

Buying a Classified Item

If you have found a Classified Item and are willing to pay the requested price, press the    button.  After entering your registration information, the item will be closed and the buyer and seller will be notified via email.

Bidding on an Auction Item

If the item is up for bid, you may have several options depending on how the item was listed.  First, enter your registration information and then you are ready to bid.

The minimum or starting bid is displayed next to the button.  To place a bid, you can either use the default value or you can enter a higher number before pressing .  If you enter a higher number, an initial bid equal to the default will be placed and then additional bids will be placed automatically on your behalf up to the value you enter.  If someone enters the same maximum bid later, you still win because your bid was first.

Even though you have the highest bid, you still may not win the item.  The seller has the option of setting a Reserve Price - if bidding does not meet or exceed this price, the seller is not committed to sell.  If you have automatic bids pending and your price meets the Reserve Price, your bid will automatically be increased to the Reserve Price but not higher unless another bid is placed.

The seller also has the option of setting a Buy It Now price. If  you see the    button, and are willing to pay the stated price, press the button.  After entering your registration information, the item will be closed and the buyer and seller will be notified via email.

Withdrawing a Bid

If you are the current high bidder on an item, you can withdraw your bids by clicking the button on the Display Item screen.  You must explain why you are withdrawing your bids.  You cannot withdraw only your last bid - this option withdraws all bids you have placed on this item.  Once an item is closed, you cannot withdraw a bid.

Refusing a Bid

If you are the owner of an item, you can refuse the last bid by clicking the button on the Display Item screen.  You must explain why you are refusing the bid.  Once an item is closed, you cannot refuse a bid.
